The Ukraine Capitulation

I had mentioned previously about the one area where President Trump has struggled with is the Ukraine situation, and it seems like this is only getting worse. The belief that he could end this conflict on “day one” was naive and now it looks like the pursuit of a Nobel Peace Prize to end this conflict, no matter what it does to Ukraine, is now the main focus. Trump needs to realize the Nobel Committee would disband before it ever gives him the peace prize. Moreover, asking Russia what they want and then telling Ukraine they must accept is not exactly something that would warrant a Peace prize.

Steve Witkoff is no doubt an intelligent person but is out of his element with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. First of all, it is a waste of time dealing with Putin as his word means nothing. Russia has been losing this war as of late and now the US is pulling defeat from victory for Ukraine. Yes, Russia has been taking some land but the amount of land gained pales in comparison to the catastrophic losses in man power not seen since World War II. The new sanction against the two largest gas producers was contributing to major economic issues for Russia, and now we are going to bale them out. Trump talks tough but in the end he showed Putin that his patience paid off as the west loses interest quickly and Putin gets what he wants.

The idea that the world is going to forget everything that happened the past three years and welcome Russia back to the G8 is absurd. First, this rewards Russia and second, Russia is not even a top economy in the world. Poland has a much better economy than Russia and should be included instead. But in the end, this peace deal will not provide security for Eastern Europe and Putin will regroup, break his promises and will resume his attempts to restore the Soviet Union.

Ukraine though has made a major mistake and this revolves around Zelensky. I thought he was the right person to lead in this time but with the major scandal of embezzlement with some of his top aides may have soured the US and others to end this conflict at all costs. Zelensky needs to resign to gain trust of Ukrainian allies as this serves Ukraine better than what is now his corrupt leadership. But the lure of power and world spotlight makes this unlikely to happen.

Stage 5 Trump Derangement Syndrome

I think earlier this year there were calls that senior members of congress to take mental competency tests but after last week with the release of some of the Epstein files, I think this expand to all members of congress. With some of the talking points specifically from Jasmine Crockett and Stacey Plaskett you begin to wonder if these people should be in charge of this country.

First off with Stacey Plaskett who is the lone representative of the US Virgin Islands, who for some reason gave her cell phone number to convicted sex predator in Jeffrey Epstein. During a hearing with Trump’s former legal advisor Michael Cohen, she was receiving messages from Epstein on what questions to ask. You would think if she were a competent prosecutor she would research this herself instead of getting advice from Epstein but in the end it is more important to get Trump at all costs. Then she has the audacity to think that the rest of the country is stupid to believe that she did not know who she was talking to during this hearing and that it was just a normal constituent. When pressed by CNN, she just basically brushed it off saying she has moved on. I am not sure why the Virgin Islands has a representative but thank goodness they have no voting rights if this is the best they have to offer.

Than you have village idiot in Jasmine Crockett. To make sure that she was first to be in the spotlight, her team (she is too lazy to do this herself) did quick research to see who Epstein donated to not realizing that there might be other people in the country named Jeffrey Epstein. When she accused that Lee Zeldin took donations from Epstein it was pointed out that this came from a doctor named Jeffrey Epstein and not the convicted sex offender. When pressed on this, she doubled down saying it was “a” Jeffrey Epstein and that she was not implying that it was the infamous Jeffrey Epstein. Of course a rational person knows this was not true as no one would care who a local doctor donates to politically but her derangement against Trump makes her incapable of doing a mea culpa. If she had just admitted her mistake and apologized this story would have died quickly but instead just made it worse. Moreover, she conveniently excluded all of the dems that took in donations included the House minority leader.

Resignation of Marjorie Taylor Green

I was never a big fan of Marjorie Taylor Green as I thought she was just bat shit crazy. Some of her conspiracies such as space lasers and that contrails from planes were some type government control experiment were cringe worthy. Her provocative statements about how domestic policy should be conducted may work in her district but nationwide does not work. In the end she thought of herself as much bigger than she really was. In the end she thought she would be a senator from Georgia but failed to gain any support from upper level politicians which includes Donald Trump. The latter she got involved with in a twitter spat which earned her publicity from the leftist media but left her isolated where it mattered, in her own party.

Not only with her comments but some of her policy reversals did not help either. Though I agree with her term limits from serving some of the others became puzzling. At one time she was for abolishing the ACA but when the subsidies were about to expire she all of sudden wanted to expand a program she wanted gone as it was politically damaging for her. The same could be said for her immigration reversal as that effected businesses in her district so she was against some of the deportations. In the end, I don’t think she deserved the vitriol of the President who never seems to be able to take the high road, but I am glad that she will be replaced.
