How the collapse of South Africa should be a warning to the West.
Continued from part 1
How do these people convince people of the revised history of the US? Through schools and it does not necessarily start at University; the revisionists start young by going into elementary level textbooks promoting their ideology. At University, China has started to substantially fund universities to soften criticism of their government but at the same time be critical of the US capitalist system, much to the delight of many Marxist professors. Iran may not fund the academic portion of Universities but fund associated University student groups into antisemitic hate groups as we have seen over the past five years the increase of intifada promoting groups on campus.
When people think of cronyism they always think of the third world despotic ruled countries but when looking in the mirror, the US is just as guilty. We have our politicians who miraculously have become multi-millionaires during their tenure whether by some dubious stock trades or links to NGOs, they are enriching themselves just like the leaders in South Africa: They are just not as overt about it.
But cronyism doesn’t just reside in the beltway, it also extends to the corporate world and the unholy connections they have with politicians. Politicians use the excuse of regulation to “save” the common person but in the end it does not effect the large corporate entities but on the smaller ones that threaten their markets. To make sure the regulations do not effect them, Corporations promote DEI initiatives promoted to them by politicians, so merit no longer applies. We now have many that work in the corporate world based on their skin color, or perceived victimhood while many are cast aside to avenge “historical” inequalities. To make sure the regulations do not effect them, Corporations promote DEI initiatives promoted to them by politicians, so merit no longer applies. We now have many that work in the corporate world based on their skin color, or perceived victimhood while many are cast aside to avenge “historical” inequalities.
We have seen some of these results with production with Boeing as well as Ford. With Boeing, DEI was the determining factor for promotions which possibly led to the wrong people being in charge of production. With Ford, government pushing car companies to produce only electrical vehicles instead of gas vehicles has led to a 18 billion dollar loss. When you have government picking winners and losers instead of the free market, more often than not it will lead to economic decline as most people in government have no knowledge in how to run a business but are guided by their utopian views of how things should be.
How to fix this decline in the US so we do not have a future like South Africa? It will not be easy, and it will need will power that many in the US lack. First, set term limits for politicians. Yes, I know, if we don’t like them we can always vote them out but once a politician is entrenched it is very hard to vote them out as they are aligned with big money interests.
Furthermore, and this has been tried but constantly voted down, all privately held investments should be held by a trust. Too many are making money with insider knowledge. The fact that Nancy Pelosi’s net worth increased to 170 MM while in congress shows that politicians are gaming the system. Finally, get rid of all NGOs. There is no oversight on these, most are politically connected, people are making millions on these and many are just funneling the money back to politicians.
With regards to government funding, the US government needs to get out of picking winners and losers in the private sector through subsidies. For example, the money that is spent yearly (in the trillions) on green energy has not only killed the energy sector in some states, but has caused, ironically, environmental damage. It has also made CEO’s of these corporations very rich with their lobbying and connections with people in congress.
Next, entitlements need to be reformed and managed better. Social security and Medicare age limits were set at time in which the average life expectancy was 63 years old so most were never going to see it. But today as people are living older, the system cannot be sustained and is estimated to be bankrupt in ten years. I know we cannot change the age limit tomorrow but it needs to be phased in for people that are now 30 that they cannot expect benefits until they are 70. My personal opinion is that social security is nothing but a Ponzi scheme and that the end result was always going to be bankruptcy, but there is not one politician (save a few) that would say this. So the next logical step would be modification.
As for the management portion of entitlements, there needs to be either better controls or better people who maintains these entitlements. It was estimated that over 150,000 legally dead people are claiming retirement benefits. Also recently, we all know of the recent Somali welfare scam in which the money that was stolen from the American taxpayers is approaching 2 billion nationwide. But most agencies tell their employees to just approve everything.
After that, is control of immigration. No more mass migration from 3rd world countries whose people do not assimilate to this country. These people like the Somalis, bring failed culture from their county to the US. If we allow immigrants in it should be that they provide some benefit to this country, not just bringing in people to put them on the dole so in the future you will get their votes. This also includes Trump’s idea on H-1B visas to let in a certain amount of tech people from India and China. We have the people that can do this job in the US, but big tech (aligned again with people in congress) want to exploit the program as they can pay these people less and also get tax relief from their employment. In the end, these foreigners bring over their families to this country again, overburdening the entitlements in this country.
Finally, Vote! Republicans/conservatives tend to only vote in a presidential election and then disappear. Conservatives need to vote in all elections even down to your local mayor, school boards and town councils. People ignore these elections and you get these radicals come in and eventually they work themselves up to the national level. Most of these people have no private sector background and tend to be steeped in socialist ideology in which the government will take care of you from stealing from productive people to you. The ones that are the scariest are those that run for the school boards as they indoctrinate kids to their views and this will stay with them until they grow up. So get involved at the local level just as you would at the federal level.
