The Democrats Destruction of Democracy

For years, voters have been told — relentlessly — that Republicans are the ones dismantling democracy. The refrain is familiar: enforcing borders is “authoritarian,” upholding the rule of law is “anti‑democratic,” and any attempt to secure elections is “voter suppression.” But when you strip away the slogans and look at the actual behavior of the modern Democratic establishment, a different picture emerges.

Take Georgia. We were told its voting reforms were a constitutional crisis. Yet turnout increased. The narrative collapsed under its own weight, but the accusation lived on because it served a political purpose.

Meanwhile, what does the Democratic Party actually push for?

• No voter ID — nationally
• Non‑citizens voting in local elections
• Universal mail‑in balloting
• Election season instead of Election Day
• Ballot harvesting

California is the model: weeks of counting, late ballots swinging races, and a system so loose that confidence erodes by design. Washington State isn’t far behind — requiring party affiliation on mail‑in envelopes, a detail that raises more questions than it answers.  These aren’t small tweaks. They cut against the constitutional principle that elections must be secure, transparent, and accountable.

And it doesn’t stop at election mechanics. Increasingly, Democratic primaries themselves are treated as optional. When the establishment decides a candidate is “unelectable,” voters are overruled. Maine’s recent primary upheaval — where Graham Platner was effectively replaced after controversies — is a reminder that the party’s internal democracy is conditional.

The Biden–Harris switch was even more dramatic. Once President Biden was deemed unable to continue, party leadership didn’t turn to voters. They turned inward. Kamala Harris, who won zero electoral votes in 2020, became the nominee through committee consensus rather than public choice. You don’t have to support or oppose Harris to see the pattern: decisions made by insiders, not citizens.

Then there’s the ideological wing shaping the party’s future. In a recent interview, a leader from the Democratic Socialists of America laid out their goals plainly:  “No borders. Abolish prisons. Abolish ICE and police. Eliminate the Senate, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court.”  These aren’t reforms. They’re a blueprint for dismantling the constitutional architecture of the United States. Yet this faction is treated as a legitimate voice inside the Democratic coalition — not an outlier.

So when you hear that Republicans are “running roughshod over the Constitution,” remember who is actually pushing policies that weaken election integrity, sideline voters, and undermine the institutions that hold the republic together. The loudest accusations often come from those who benefit most from distraction.

Democracy isn’t threatened by enforcing laws, securing borders, or asking voters to prove they are who they say they are. It’s threatened when political power becomes unmoored from constitutional limits — and when the people are treated as an obstacle rather than the authority.
